FAQ
Questions, answered.
The things couples ask us most, before they even ask.
How much does a wedding DJ cost in Metro Detroit?
One DJ entertainment package covers everything for your reception — $1,100 for weddings in 2026, $1,200 for weddings in 2027. A $400 deposit books your date, with the remaining balance due before your event.
What’s included with the DJ package?
A 6-hour wedding reception with DJ/MC, a full sound system, dance floor lighting, free setup and teardown, a backup DJ and equipment on call, and access to our client portal for planning forms and song requests.
Do you MC the wedding, or just play music?
We MC the full reception — announcements, wedding party introductions, all of it. During the dance portion, though, we’re not narrating every song; we read the room, encourage guests onto the floor when it helps, and otherwise let the moment speak for itself.
Do you provide ceremony coverage?
Yes — ceremony music coverage is a $200 add-on for ceremonies at the same location, covering the seating music, processional, any special ceremonies, readings, and recessional.
Can we add extra time if our reception runs long?
Yes, an additional hour of service is $100.
How far in advance should we book?
There’s no set deadline — we hold your date for one week after your consultation. If you’re getting married in 2027, booking now locks in 2026 pricing.
What happens if something goes wrong with the equipment or DJ?
A second DJ and backup equipment are on call for every event, so your reception never depends on one thing going right.
Is Fancy Entertainment insured?
Yes, we’re fully insured.
Can we build our own timeline and song requests?
Yes — every couple gets access to a private client portal to fill out planning forms, submit song requests, and lay out event details ahead of time.
Can guests make song requests, and can we set a do-not-play list?
Yes to both. Guests can make requests the night of, and couples can build a must-play list ahead of time. You can also set a do-not-play list — individual songs or entire artists you’d rather we skip.
What areas do you serve?
We regularly serve couples throughout Metro Detroit — including Rochester, Troy, Novi, Birmingham, Sterling Heights, Clarkston, Livonia, and Southfield — and travel slightly outside the area for weddings in Lansing or Ann Arbor.
